There are all kinds of love in this world, but never the same love twice

Take a quote from your favorite movie — there’s the title of your post. Now, write!
In response to The Daily Post’s Daily Prompt: Silver Screen

Anthony: Alam mo ‘yung sinabi ni F. Scott Fitzgerald? There are all kinds of love in this world, but never the same love twice.

Note: I used some Filipino terms here, because I think it has more impact than its English. For no reason, I think Filipinos find speaking our native language deeper because we’re so used with speaking in English. See below for the quick translations. 🙂

I don’t have a particular favorite movie, but right now ‘That Think Called Tadhana I can say is the latest addition to my all-time favorites. After winning the Audience Choice Award in the 10th Cinema One Originals Film Festival, finally the movie is now a nationwide craze and tagged as the Hugot Movie of 2015.

The movie is dedicated for tanga people when it comes to love. It’s like watching yourself, your sister, your friend, your classmate, and everyone else. I can relate to the character. I think at some point, everyone became tanga, like Mace and Anthony – may not be the same experience, but similar situation.

The script is great and, of course, it takes effective actors to deliver punchlines that’s tagos to everyone’s heart. The lead actress, Angelica Panganiban, won as the festival’s Best Actress. And although the story focused too much on the two characters, watching them was never tiring.

How many times did you cry when you got broken hearted? How many times did you ask yourself and your friends “Why?” Every girl can claim it’s her story, even men. I think that’s the main reason why I will never get tired of watching the movie again and again. Whether you can relate with your past or present, the fact that you are like watching your tanga self in the movie makes the hugot lines tagos and funny. Why funny? When you’re so tanga in love, you do tanga things without realizing or not caring at all how tanga you will look like.

This romantic-comedy film will make you laugh and cry. It will make you remember how unfortunate love can be and how hard letting go is, but will still leave good vibes.

Translations: tadhana (fate / destiny), tanga (stupid), hugot (pull out / draw), tagos (penetrating)

  1. I do admire Anthony’s character, so much. Not everybody is a good listener but Anthony’s character simply portray with all of the desire to understand someone’s situation.
